I have a Six-line Wrasse-hole in my 30L AiO that doesn't take kindly to new tankmates. He's already killed one new goby, so I'm thinking of using a combination of acclimation box and mirrors when introducing some new fish. I would just try to catch the wrasse and get rid of him, but I actually like having him in there, so I'll keep him if I can.

My tank is not large, so I'm wondering what size box to get. I want to make sure I have ample room without having to rearrange rockwork to accommodate the box. Potential temporary inhabitants would include a small goby/pistol pair, a small clown, a small Coral Beauty and maybe a Firefish or something similar. Obviously, not all at the same time.

I'm looking at a box that is in the 8x6x4 size range. Would that be big enough for what I'm planning to add considering a 3-7 day stay in the box?

Sorry for your loss

I think that box size would be fine, though tight for coral beauty (30g tight for coral beauty, they say 30g min). Hoping acclimation box can go down to bottom where goby may live. Originally my box style was hang on side, so the old fish only wanted new fish to live where meet & greet happened, new fish didn't understand, attacked badly (yes used mirrors on release), healed in QT, re-acclimated, repeat, died. Repeat story 2x. Now have magnetized box to move all around in my 180g to all 'territories' Thinking 6 line wrasse maybe territorial of sand, since mine likes to sleep in sand (but mine has no territories and swims all over)

Death Dealers in my tank don't include my 6 line wrasse - he's a mellow old grandpa fish (though, he did eat some peppermint shrimp when tried to add).

Before adding next fish, maybe week or 2 before maybe could 'vacation' your 6 line wrasse to either sump or QT if you have either. My QT is just the Petco 5g kit. Let the new fish acclimate, then acclimate the wrasse in box

When I had to 'vacation' my yellow tang due to tank treatment, I moved sailfin tang to my sump for 1-2 weeks, yellow Death Dealer went into tank (can handle my flame angel Death Dealer (3rd attacker), sailfin Death Dealer went from sump to acclimation box. Acclimation box went various places in tank. Once the fighting died down between tangs, had mirror handy then let sailfin out - TA DAH! No deaths or even serious fighting in my tank upon release... LOVE acclimation box meet & greet!!!
