Hey reefers wanted to know what you think of using an acclimation box? Does it increase the success rate of the fish?

It can be useful if you have aggression issues or need to make sure the fish is eating. Otherwise, turning off the lights and making sure the new fish has adequate hiding spaces and escape routes is usually good enough for reducing introduction stress. An acclimation box could be more stressful for certain fish, like sand burrowing wrasses or fish that like to hide as they may feel very exposed without the ability to hide from view.

I put some rubble rock and macroalgae in mine to help reduce stress. I do believe it helps get a fish used to new water parameters and eating without being harassed by tank mates. I have acclimated fish in my sump to help reduce stress even more.
