Acclimation - CUC

Wow, that is warm. Float them in the tank until they reach temp, pull them out, inspect them (because of the heat) and put the good ones in the tank.

Depending on what you got I would expect some to make it. Over the years had this happen a few times when heat packs were used and should not have been. Usually crabs do ok, snails are toast.

All of the crabs are doa and look like dead spiders

The snails mostly have their feet dangling but we’re giving the college effort

I don’t think many survived at all… I’ve seen 3 move with purpose, 2 have moved since last night

This is pretty much a total loss

Maybe 5 moved… all crabs are confirmed doa…

This is basically a total loss

I recorded video of temp and status when opening box
I took photos
I acclimated and put in tank despite not wanting to

Refund is going to take days to even begin to properly process bc, there is still a chance…

There are certain vendors we have to learn not to use the hard way I guess

I’ve had this happen before. It’s not always the vendors fault. I had an order that was in shipping for over a week and you could tell the condition just by smell. I put the ones that I was sure were alive in the tank, questionable ones in a bucket and dead ones in the trash. Even though it was a shipping delay, the vendor took care of all of it.

Still not naming names, the vendor I used was very stand up and followed through on their end

Would recommend them and can share their details privately
