Acclimation of Pink Streaked Wrasse?

So I’m picking up a pink streaked wrasse today at my LFS. I asked what their salinity was and it’s 1.022 and my QT is at 1.025. I’m going to adjust my QT tank to 1.022 but my question is how do I slowly adjust it up to 1.025? Also can I just temp acclimate it since salinity is already matched?

I usually just do partial water changes with 1.025 to bring the QT up to 1.025. I have a 20L QT and will change out 2-3 gallons per day with this approach until I hit desired salinity. You could also do your topoff on the QT with 1.025 instead of RODI. I prefer the water change approach. Once the salinty is pretty close I just do a drip acclimate to move the fish. I've done this with several pink streaks with no issues.

Ok thanks so much so even for acclimating him from the LFS should I do a drip? I feel like it wouldn’t be necessary if temp and salinity the same.

If your salinity and temp match, no need to drip acclimate if it's a QT. Just float the bag for half an hour or so then put'em in QT. Keep the lights off / down for a day or so and let it settle down. Hopefully you have something for it to hide in, they are a cryptic wrasse until very comfortable.

And to match 1.022 > 1.025, just let the QT evaporate for a week or so, ie stop topping up the tank with freshwater till it reads 1.025.

So basically let the tank evaporate down to 1.025 then start topping it off?

That's what I do, unless it gets too low, then I'll top off with some salt water instead.

Ok haha so just to double check, I don’t have to top off the tank at all just wait for it to go up to 1.025 then start topping off with rodi to keep it there?

When the water evaporates the salt remains, so if you replace with plain RODI it will keep the salinity the same. If you don't replace, the evaporation will cause the salinity to slowly rise. If you top off with 1.025 salt water, it will gradually raise until at 1.025, keeping the water level steady.
