Acclimation Question

Okay so when I first get a fish from an LFS I temperature acclimate for 20-30mins & then drain the bag to half & add a partial cup of tank water every 5 mins for ~20-30 mins till the bag doubles in volume. Does this sound good? Any suggestions or changes I could make timing wise? I know drip acclimation is best in most cases but that isn’t an option at the moment. Also, I’m aware I should be QT’ing fish but don’t have one setup as of yet. Gonna set one up soon though

This is how I acclimate and always have although once the bag doubles I dump half out again and repeat the partial cup of tank water every 5 mins for ~20-30 mins till the bag doubles in volume a 2nd time. Then I add to the tank. I have never liked the drip acclimation process as the temp always seems to fall from the displays temp so IMO you are doing it the correct way. I have never had an issue doing it this way and will continue to always do it this way. If you cant quarantine i would recommend at least using safety stop as an effort.

Thank you, I appreciate the reassurance. I’m gonna begin doing the process twice now for extra precaution & I’ll definitely look into safety stop
