Acclimation times? inverts, fish, coral etc...

Do you practice different acclimation times for fish, inverts, corals, or other specialty creatures? I remember a time when I was told to never take a clam out of water. I don't think this holds true any longer. Any other animals that require special techniques when adding/transfer to a tank?

Yes, but this is also based on a short trip from my LFS. 30-40min for fish, 10-15min for snails, 30-40 for all other inverts and 5-8min dip for corals.
