I have an order of multiple livestock coming to my house today(see attached pics for all I ordered). My question is once it arrives I will need to step out of my house for a party this evening. What would my best option be to acclimate? Should I put everything in a bucket and do a slow slow drip for over 4hrs? Would that kill everything? Or, should I temp acclimate and then pour a 1/4 cup of water every 10 min for a half hr? I'm in sort of a pickle because it should arrive around 4pm and I need to leave the house by five and won't return until around 9???

Depends on the live stock you are getting. If you are getting a hardy fish like clownfish, gobys chromis ect. I would pour 1/2 a cup to their bag every 10 to 15 min for 1 hour. If they are sensitive stock like shrimp, star fish, a Mandarin I would use the trip.

Here is what I have on order(see pics)

Some of those items (shrimp, clam etc.) need a good acclimatization period. I think four hours is a bit extreme, the requirement realy depends on the pH an salinity shift that the livestock has to make . I personally would measure ph and salinity an make a judgment call.. Be aware that some online shippers ship fish at vey low salinity!!! Some of the bags may be at low salinity and others closer to1.025. Therefore I would not dump all into the same bucket without measuring first. If you do not own a refractometer, then you need to drip acclimate all the livestock individually. Liveaquaria.com has goo instructions, and it doesn't take 4 hours. Good luck.

I agree with bad company. Use the trip acclimation. For shrimp I would acclimate them for 3 hours before placing them in. Nothing will happen if you acclimate them for 4 hours remember they already spent a whole day traveling in bags they wont die. I would place them in different buckets and acclimate them that way.

How long will they last in the bags? They still haven't arrived and I need to leave and won't be back till 10pm central time?? Will it be ok Levi g them in the bags that long
