Accodently split my torch's skeleton in half.

How far along in the splitting process was it?
To be honest. It didn't look like it was splitting. We've had it for a month now and never noticed a new head growing so who knows? We only noticed what seemed to be a split after breaking it in half.

Looks great so far, fingers crossed. Your treatment right away might have helped it push through the stress.
I agree. I think I made the right move at the right time. Coral RX although a good dip didn't seem like a good idea but the idione was key. This hobby is fascinating.

@MERKEY

Do the heads pinch from the bottom up, or top down?

While the methodology was a bit caveman like :) isn’t this how we frag a torch, but with a saw?
Haha the "caveman method". I think usually they frag them at the base of the skeleton horizontally, not vertically down the mouth. Could this be a new method? LOL
Purchase one torch and make it into two? Sounds too good to be true haha

Done something similar myself recently, tried to remove a lord from a plug and shattered the skeleton on one head, broke into three bits. Luckily didn’t tear the head. Glued it back together and glued it to the rock, seems to be doing well.
Hope yours works out.

Those are some nice looking Lords, you're doing something right for sure. I have a Lord that seems to grow multiple mouths in one head. Some one told me this is extremely rare. Any experiences like this with your Acans?

Sucks but definitely kind of cool;)

Some vendors/hobbiests put glue over the exposed area and let it heal.

There are actually people doing this on purpose and grafting torches and having success. Coralking on IG is the best at it and is doing frogspanws/octos and scolis as well.

Like @Lost in the Sauce @fishguy242 were saying keep it clean and watch for BJD and keep your fingers crossed....oh and definitely keep us updated!
Really! I wasn't aware of any one doing this intentionally. I'm going to check that out thanks for the info. I love our little reefing community. The fact that we all come from different walks of life, have different views on the world (politics, religion, social status etc) yet this hobby brings us all together makes me extremely happy. This is the way the world should operate. Finding common grounds and developing friendships over those things rather than focusing on ideas that separate us as a species. Especially with the way things are now

Thanks, I’m really pleased with them, one of my favourites in the tank, always want feeding.
Mine seem rather slow growing, they puff up big and beautifully but refuse to grow new heads, not sure why yet. ‍
Never seen a double header, I’ll keep an eye out for them.

From what I've seen they will start by showing a "pinch" up top and then a second mouth will form.

After a month or 4 ;Hilarious they start showing a more noticed split at the top first.

I noticed mine grow up and get longer from the split rather than splitting downward.

Some growers get like 6" stalks, it's nuts.

Interesting, mine don’t seem to grow up into stalks. Just puff up a bit and spread outwards. They always have their feeder tentacles out 24/7 and I feed them almost every day!

Dont worry I had the same problem with my Acans not growing new heads. What worked for me is spot feeding them rinsed PE Mysys shrimp everyday. Reefroids didn't do much for them nor did reef chilli. I started with three heads and after feeding mysys, turned into 12 in 5 months. They love that crap.
When I got them....

That's what's amazing and very cool to see in this hobby.

Different parameters from 1 tank to another will create different growth patterns ;)

Very nice
Do you have any shrimp? My cleaner shrimp is a pest, I feed the lords all the time with mysis and LPS pellets and the bloody shrimp tries to dig them out. I have to stay with the lords and defend them for about 15 minutes. Seriously think of getting rid of him, apart from looking cool he contributes nothing but being a jerk.

Also, my tank is a 7gallon with only a wave pump, heater, and an AI Prime HD. No sump, no skimmer, calcium reactor or mechanical filtration since its not an AIO. Just flow, light and heater. Friends, don't let people convince you that you need all this crazy (expensive) equipment to run a successful reef tank. I set my nephew's tank the same way and everything thrives as in mine.

Every one told me this was impossible in an large tank let alone in a 7 gallon. We need to rethink alot when it comes to this hobby. Heres a video of my tank when I first started it. Every one said "don't get torches they'll die in a new tank" lol.

Thanks man, no cleaner shrimp because as you said (they're jerks) lol. I had emerald crabs and they would walk all over my corals so I gave them away. Just a tail spot blenny named Adolf and a Conch. Simple and easy. I also don't have much of a CUC since I don't have any algae on my rocks. I'd get rid of the shrimp TBH. They're nice but they're also little Hitlers causing havoc at times. Cilantro shrimp always makes a good dish. Just kidding

Update:
Day 3 and my nephews torch is still looking good. No sign of BJD or stress. How?
