Both are considered more accurate/reliable than "hobbyist grade" Cu test kits; I'm also told the Chemetrics one is easier to read than API, Salifert, Seachem, etc.

Hach is $80 bucks. "Contains 50 Free and 50 Total tests."

Is that 100 tests ?

I hear that. API Copper Test Kit is $6 on Amazon and does 90 tests.

I'm more concerned about accuracy than price, but if API is accurate and has a low price,....heck ya !

So, what's the difference between Cupramine & CopperSafe ?

Cupramine is fully charged (ionic) copper, and has a therapeutic range of 0.35-0.5 mg/L or ppm. You would use a Seachem or Salifert copper test kit for Cupramine, as those are capable of reading copper in the low range. Coppersafe, on the other hand, is chelated copper. It has a much higher therapeutic range of 1.5-2.0 mg/L or ppm. As such, you need a “total copper test kit” such as API’s to measure Coppersafe.

However, the two "professional grade" test kits (mentioned above) are capable of measuring all forms/ranges of copper.
