I have 1.026 on 45 gallons for 10 packs. The package says I need all 10 packs to get this salinity. I'm at 78 degrees, so it's about 35 ppm. I did a lot of calibration and research, testing to be quite sure my testing refract is giving accurate results. I do trust it. Have many others found that this salt is giving higher salinity than the package says?

I just mixed 45 gallons of a 50 gallon box. DIretions say this should be 1.026. It's only 1.024. I'm quite sure I'm using an accurate calibarated refrac. I went though a very long time with various standards and my own experiments to figure out my measurements should be accurate.
**Is this what others have found overall that it's about 10% off?
EEDDDDIITTT: it's late and somehow I didnt use all 10 of the pouches, just 8 lol ugh. I'll report shortly lol :-D
I use this salt and it always mixes up at 1.026 for me. 1 packet into 4.5 gallons of water once a week.

Ugh I feel dumb. My trash can I use is just under 45 gallons, but it has 40 gallons in it. So 9 packs to 1.026 makes sense. I wish I can change the name of the thread to accurasea1 is totally salinity accurate.
