Accurate ph test kit?

Nope. I recommend any pH meter over a kit since you can always check a meter in a standard, but not so easily a kit.

You're going to want to use 7.0 and 10.0 buffers to calibrate it, instead of the provided 4.0 buffer. I had one of those when I started out in the hobby years ago, and noticed that the pH would change significantly (I forget which direction) if I submerged it below the surface of the tank water. The deeper I went, the more it changed. You probably want to just use it at the surface, if you are directly measuring tank/sump water.

OK, but as Jim points out, 7 and 10 is better since you usually want to calibrate over the range you intend to use.

How about 4.0 and 7? I didn't order the 10.

4.0 and 7.0 will work but for reef tanks its best to bracket your calibration buffers closer to 8.0, thus 10.01 and 7.01 buffers is better. When the meter asks for 4.01 buffer and you can use 10.01 and it will automatically recognize the solution.
