Hey!
I’ve had my Achilles tang for a little over a month now and this guy will not eat anything but Brine Shrimp and Seaweed. That’s it, won’t eat any pellets or mysis. He literally spits them out, I’ve never seen anything like it lol. Any tips or tricks will help. Thanks

Achilles are herbivorous fish in nature, depending on size, the mysis just may be a little larger in size for him too eat. Try some natural foods in his normal diet, stick with nori sheets or frozen foods based on herbivorous foods like Rods or Hikari.
Just watch his body weight. Pinched belly, is a concern but not a total alarm. Watch pinching and thinning behind his eyes and below his dorsal fin, pinching there is cause for real concern.

I wouldnt be too worried if thats all its eating - Nori is a huge part of their diet and should sustian it pretty well.

What else have you tried? Mysis can be hit and miss but id be trying a broader variety including krill and herbivore frozne mixes etc too.

He will eat krill but he doesn’t seem happy eating it lol. He grazes on it more or less

I haven’t tried rods yet, hard to find in my area as none of my stores carry it. I will try to get some and try it out

Very true

It will also take time until it discovers other foods

Maybe try flake? Spirulina flakes for example smell a bit more like algae than meaty pellets would. And their structure might resemble a more natural food to the fish as well.
