Yes, dose the biospira 3-5 days before adding the fish. It's likely that there isn't enough bacteria colonized on the sponge to handle that bioload.

I’ve been out of the hobby for a while and recently bought a house and decided to get back into the hobby. I made a new r2r last night and plan on making a build thread soon
