Acid wash rose BTA totally bleached out

Hi guys,

check out my BTA, it was super red and slightly green when I got it about a month ago for my clowns. After a couple of days moving around she dug herself in the shade for a week until I had to tear down the rock work to expose it to light or it would die. She's been in and out of it, sometimes inflated, sometimes deflated. All her color is gone but a little pink on the tip of the tentacles. She's still reacting and eating raw shrimp whenever I get a chance to catch her inflated and ready, otherwise she won't eat. Food isn't sticking to her anymore so she has to try and grab it with her tentacles but she is super slow. Now she's facing up a little bit more which helps to feed her. These guys are hardy, I had other species of anemones die for a lot less. Anyway, just for your curiosity.

The crab will stick with it till the end, but let's hope it'll recover.

You might want to get a plastic strainer basket and try to put the nem in there. It would make feeding much easier.

Can't see too much color on the video because of all the blue, but physically it doesn't look very good. As long as the foot is attached there is always a chance it will survive.

Does the crab bother it at all?

Where did you get it from? Is there a chance that it was dyed?

That sounds like a good idea. It definitely needs to eat well to have any chance of recovery. Would it let go of the rock though? I'm afraid to damage it if I try.

I don't think the crab bothers it, although I'm not sure what you mean. But there's definitely stress going on due to the female clown trying to shoo it off all the time and it not budging at all as it hangs on to the anemone, tough little sucker. She eventually gives up and snuggles besides the crab.

Got it from LAX Aquarium. They have the most gorgeous anemones I've ever seen in person, I don't think they are dyed. But I don't have knowledge to tell.

the best two ways I found to release the foot from the rock is to take the rock out and use either an ice cube on the foot, or sprinkle just a little of your salt mix on the foot.

I would try to move it to a basket for recovery. If the clowns are hosting in it, they're probably causing more stress to an already stressed animal.

Once you get it isolated do SMALL feedings. Maybe some blended mysis or brine every other day or every two days to start.
