Hi all -

We recently moved from a house that was on city water to a house with a well. The well is apparently tapped into a natural spring that slightly acidic ( PH is around 6. ) We recently installed a UV system for the house as there were some coliforms registering on the basic water test. Aside from that, there isn't much of anything else in the water mineral wise.

I have a 4 stage RO/Di from BRS from our previous house/tank. My question is will the acidic water have much (any?) affect on the RO membranes' longevity/effectiveness?

I think that membrane is the last stage..should be fine. But I don't know enough about them, I just use one.

It's possible that the lower pH is because of CO2 in the water. If that is the case, you may want to degas it before the DI so you don't burn through resin.
