aclimation for new shimpent

hello reefs
what type of aclimation should i do if i get fishes and inverts that were in a bag for over 24hours in a new shimpent.
i just want to make sure

I would float them in your sump/tank for a while to bring the temperature to the correct level

Then proceed with either the drip method, or the one I use which is put them into a plastic/glass container in a small amount of their bag water, and then the throw 1/2 cup of tank water in every 5-10 minutes until I’m happy there ready to go into the tank or your QT procedure

wouldn't this just interdouce new air cuasing it to burn there gills and wouldn't a drip or the 5 min cup method just increase the anomia level

Im not at all sure why it would do that, so I would say no. The cup of water I’m referring to is tank water just to be clear.

I think he means ammonia. Yes, acclimating shipped fish can result in increased ammonia b/c as ph drops the ammonia is not harmful but once you open the bag and begin drip acclimation the ph increases and ammonia becomes deadly.
You can just add some prime to the bag or drip bucket.

yeah i know and i do this with fish i get in the fish store, but i've heared since the fish will be in the bag for over 24 hours Air gets trapped and as soon as I open the bag new air will come in and its something to do with the gills of the fish burning so I've heard that I shouldn't even drip or do the cup acclamation and also the cupping method where you take water from the tank there going in to the bag or the container to salinity and ph aclimate them but since there going to be in the bag for over 24 hours people just recommend to temp aclimate but it also means more losses tbh i really want to know if what i heard was a myth or not?

I can only tell you what I do, and any fish I’ve purchased mail order that will be in a bag for that length of time have oxygen pumped into the bags at a rate of 2/3rd total bag volume

i dont really get you care to clarify
do you mean open the fishes bag put them them in a bucket add a little bit of prime in the bucket then drip aclimate?

Yep, if you’re worried about ammonia. Just acclimate as you would (adding tank water to bag or drip acclimate in a bucket) with a drip of Prime added to the water.

can prime be added directly in to a reef tank or into the bucket i am using to aclimate the fish

Prime can be added to a tank but the whole point is to detoxify the water the fish was shipped in.
