Hey everyone. A week ago all my corals in qt passed and went to the main display so I have been having fun collecting new corals again. My one lfs gives points and I had enough to almost pay for this guy! I have never seen one at any store so to me it was rare and beautiful. Should. Be no issue for me. The camera won’t show the orange but it is. Bright orange I have very good success with lps

Sweet, here is mine. I think plate corals are underrated. One of my lightnings has claimed it haha :)

Amazing. I haven’t seen many I thought it was a good purchase. Can’t wait to feed it when it’s settled in

Beautiful coral. What are you planning on feeding it? Mine did best when they had a clownfish tending as @Anthony Scholfield has. They do fine catching drift if you have fishes you are feeding. They also can inflate and move around with the current so keep an eye out. If they land on other corals the war is on. Mine have taken out a few frags over the years this way.

Sorry guys. My iPhone does not show the orange but trust me it’s orange. The only other coral in my frag tank that’s on the bottom is an acanthophylia. Feeding wise I dose Redsea abplus. Phyto and occasionally reef roids. Plus maybe some frozen if it gets it

Hey man that’s awesome. Remember to put it in the sand, plate corals can die if not on sand. They’re foot needs to grab the sand I believe

Ok. That part I wasn’t of. Ok I will rig something up as it’s in qt

Beautiful! I almost got an orange plate coral myself but was afraid of what my pistol shrimp would do to it....

I'm sure this WONT happen because you are a better reefer than me...

but pro tip. If it dies, don't take it out of your tank. I had mine die due to an alk swing and I left it in the tank, now I have 6 little baby plate corals that spawned out of it. But they came out of it like 8 months after it died....

1000% agree with above. My green plate almost bought the farm and now I have a plate factory. Literally 30 in my tank now and I have provided over 100 colonies to my LFS. I have piles if anyone wants any holla.

I disagree.
Thinking about this. Every plate coral I have ever seen is on a bare bottom frag tank ??? I’m sure it will be fine for 2 months before it goes to the display
