In this thread I wanted to hear how each of you acquired your tank/s. I have bought new, used(later blew out), used and resealed, and had thoughts of building. Share your stories and experiences of how you got your tanks.

Bought new during the dollar per gallon sale when the 40 breeders were still a dollar per gallon ;)

All of my tanks have been bought new; with two exceptions. One was a plywood monstrosity that I built around 1992; the other a craigslist special that I bought mostly for the livestock. Only used the actual tank for about 6 months. Not a fan of used tanks, particularly big ones. Partly because they can be age indeterminate, particularly if the seller isn't the original owner.

Bought an old 220 & had to take it all apart in reseal, Other than that I have been gifted tanks found tanks being discarded My latest have been purchased .

The main reason I was curious about this question was I have always seen aquariums all over craigslist and other sites, I just didn't know who all actually watched out for deals.

Today while at work I was checking out craigslist and I came across an 84 gallon with two canister filters, heater, cheap LED, bubbler, and stocked with chiclids. All for $150 ( in the houston area). Seller claims they are moving and needs it gone. The deal was to good to pass up, but I don't have the time or space for that project:(. Wife says once we move in May I can get whatever I want (poor choice of words;):D) Come May game on!
