Acro after setup.

It really just depends on some things are you starting with dry rock, live rock? I was unable to have success with acro for at least one year of my tank running I started with all dry rock. Really comes down to your tank since very tank is different.

I am starting out with dry rock and going to add Dr. Tim’s beneficial bacteria to start the cycle. My new tank is going to be all sps.
How do you cycle new tanks?

always remember patience is key in reefing. Coral grow from nutrients in water (fish poop/nitrates) and whatever additive foods. If youre asking how long it takes to cycle a tank then it would seem youre fairly new at reefing? Do a bunch of research and dedicate weekly test to keep parameters stable. What lights you run, equipment you have, to even how clean the water you top off with affect sps. How long ya veen in hobby? Tank size, equipment, plans, pics?

FishofHex doesn't believe in waiting a full year to add coral. Says its a bunch of crap, Has a good youtube video on it

I’m not completely new. Just new to acros and wanted to see how long it took other people before adding them.

I added a buncha stuff within the first year but have had some experience in reefing for a while. If you go that route fast id say buy cheap trial acro first. Save a few bucks. But I'd always wait until you know what all nees done to have that crazy color, growth, and polyp extension before diving in. Mine just live and have mild color.
