Morning all,

so I had just bought a strawberry shortcake colony and like I’ve always done I dip it in Bayer and revive. Never had a coral bleach on me on dip.

I’m pretty sure it was the revive as coral still had color after Bayer and after revive it was all white and now some specs of brown under the blue light I see some green on the tiny tips but that’s it.

Is it dead or does it have a 50/50 chance in recovery and if so where should I place the coral to attempt to revive in the higher light flow area or high flow low light?

many input is appreciated it.

Lower light, and very random medium flow! Did it bleach or did the tissue peal off? If bleached in time should come back!

I use revive and often see the same thing. It doesn’t seem to kill them often though. But it does take a few weeks to color back up. I continue to use revive as it appears to be the toughest on worms and crustaceans especially.

So I might have a shot than just need to leave it in low light for a few weeks

I honestly couldn’t tell your as I wouldn’t know what that looks like. I did see tons of things coming off the coral once flow was hitting it so think that might have been tissue but could t tell you for certain.

Can you take a picture that is not so blue! Use a flash if you have one, if not light the coral with a flashlight.
But it does sound like tissue was peeling off. not good

Unfortunately to me that looks like it died. Looks to me that the flesh has completely came off. Something hit it hard maybe flatworms?

just the dip had full colors when I bought it after taking out from revive it looked like this with a horrible smell so I think it is dead but leaving in tank for about a week or longer to see if that is indeed the case.

Yea put it back in and see if it still has some color. Like I said though kinda hard to tell from the photo if the flesh is missing or not.

I see some tiny pops here and there but I am seeing more browning so not a clue what any of that means lol

That Acro doesn't look bleached it looks like it RTNd. Revive is pretty harsh on Acros IME, especially on smooth skins. There is a small chance that individual polyps will pull through, so I would keep it in a tank for a while.

I would try and keep it in a low flow low light area to try and see if it can make a come back. You never know.
