Acro bleached within 48 hours. New to sps.

So I immediately ordered raisers for my lights. Light currently at 30% blues, 12% white. I think I'm gonna bump it up to 35% and 15% tonight so it'll be ramped into the new settings tomorrow.

Currently have 7 corals. 3 LPS, 1 SPS, and the 3 softies. They're all doing well but I think the SPS could use some more light.

Added an ATO. I was topping off 3-4 times a day by hand with this open top. (I work nights which allowed me to do so)
Everything is much more stable and happy now.

I don't have a need to feed anything. Should I get a small gobie or something to help? I'll keep an eye on all of that and do as you suggested. Thank you.

This is where the hobby can be frustrating if you're new. It's very hard to learn without experiencing pain for yourself. People will say all day that 0 no3 and po4 are what you want, this ULNS fad has caused a mass of garbage information out there in terms of keeping SPS. I know because I strived for this number, I couldn't understand why my acros never survived longer than a month...Once I started visiting popular LFS around the states I noticed that all the sps tanks worth a crap had 5-10 nitrates and a measurable level of po4. You need fish if you want sps, get more than 1 and make sure it eats enough to poop alot!

Also don't throw a skimmer rated for 600g on that tank no matter how much mindless useless crap you read on the internet that says you need to do so!

Also, are you sure it is bleached and not RTN? People often confuse RTN with bleaching not realizing their acros never color back up because they have no flesh left. If this happened over the course of 3 days, i'd suspect RTN which sounds about right for an acro placed in a tank that JUST finished it's cycle.

Give it 12 more months! Don't use Xenia and GSP as a driver for the health of your tank, you will be cursing that stuff as you gain more experience. IMO I look at those both as pests/nuisance rather than corals. I treat it like bad algae and remove it as I see it.

This isn't my first reef tank. I'm just new to sps and been out of the hobby for about 10 years. Plus there's so much more/different info out now I'm just trying to catch up. I know most people think of those corals as invasive species or pests. I like them.
