Are the white parts bleaching or growth. Also it looks like there maybe some algae at the very top its kinda brown.

I get brown algae like when direct flow hits it for too long and dying parts…the white kinda hard to see in pic but it looks like it is encrusting at base so at least u know it’s growing that way

It dosent get super high flow. I just started dosing about a month ago so I've been getting good growth. I have 3 other acros that are doing okay exept one that fell onto my nem. Do the tips turn white when they grow because there's some parts where it's super white. Also some of my other corals r kinda acting strange. But that's pretty common for them to do.

It can be growth but then it can also be alk burn… gonna have to post all ur parameters

Usually algae growing on the tips indicates not growth. Algae grows on the skeleton or corals. As mentioned above posting your parameters helps.

Alkalinity, magnesium, calcium pH, temp, phosphates, and nitrates are a good start if you have them.

Also, do you know what par it's in? Lighting used, intensity, height above tank, and depth of coral help if PAR isn't available.

I'm guessing based on the tips with algae it's probably as mentioned above - alk burn.

I just test my alk at 8.3dkh. A week ago my nitrates 4 ph 0.08(replaced gfo) mag 1600. 80f 8.3 ph light haven't changed for awhile and coral was looking good

8.3 dKh isn't too terribly high. Phosphate test was before changing gfo or after?

Also I have 7 sps and 6 lps if that helps a there pretty normal hammer and duncan r closed up but that's pretty normal at night

8.3 dKh is a good level but if your phosphates drop to 0 some more sensitive SPS can experience tip burn.

This one looks like it's basing out and starting to encrust the base pretty good. It looks like a growth edge there. The tips could be low phosphate and high alkalinity.

I'm not an expert and I know there could definitely be other possibilities.

Yea I can try testing alk again I'm hoping it's just growth I look up some pics and the tips of acros turn white when growing

Some do, yep! As I mentioned, yours is basing out it looks like so it is growing some.

Hey I got a follow up and idk what the problem could be other than high phos or something else like metal getting into the water. I did a 30% wc. I got 3 other acros 1 is fine. The other 2 r new and one is not looking good after being sting by my nem. There's a tiny bit of bleaching on my other one but it's not bad yet.

.08 phos isn't bad at all and wouldn't cause this. It could be a nutrient swing, alk swing, temp swing or something like that. Most STN happens from the base first.

Yea but it's not I don't think it's alk burn. There is algae growing on the skeleton tho which means it's proubably stn. It's not getting enough flow to make the flesh mad so idk.

Hey so you think 0 phos could have started them to bleach. I replaced my gfo when I found out my phos was at 0.8 but I don't have a phos test my lfs tested so could my gfo of 0 my phos causing them to bleach?
