This acro was doing great for a few months then developed these giant spiny white things a few days ago and lost all its color last night. All other actors are doing fine. Any idea what these are, and if this acro is totally dead?

of interest, do you have any wrasses that would be interested in whatever this might be?

They look like potential Pineapple Sponges but it's really hard to tell. I don't think the sponges will kill an acro. I see possibly one polyp so there's a chance it could survive but it doesn't look good.

Pretty difficult to see anything with those photos. Can you pull the acro and frag plug out for a clearer picture? How fast did the objects develop? Did they grow to that size while on the acro or appear overnight?

Idk what they are but pull it and take photos quick then toss it in the bin asap it’s dead.

Thanks a lot, in bed with covid, girlfriend took it out and tried to get better pictures, then tossed it. She said the coral had these things on it for almost the full 3 months we had it. She tried to break them off but they were hard.

Pics fuzzy but looks like aptasia anemones which sting and would upset the acro

Could it be a keyhole limpet? Keyhole limpets are known to eat corals.
