Just fragged my cali tort and noticed this in the cut margin, never seen anything like this before. Its pretty deep within the skeleton itself.

Corals usually have white eggs, so those are probably not eggs. That may be residual tissue contained in the skeleton that was produced when the skeleton grew over a joint or fork. I also think that the eggs of this coral would be very tiny, almost microscopic for any acropora corals.

thanks for the info. I've never seen anything like this before so kind of caught me off guard. I believe I've seen videos of acros releasing eggs and they seem to be quite large almost to the point where they need to squeeze out of the polyp because they are larger than the polyp opening itself, so i figured these seemed to be the right size.

Well I was wrong haha thanks for the info! @TMB

Yup, thats the beauty of science. What was correct yesterday may not be correct tomorrow.

So how long until I'll be getting little baby cali torts popping up all over my tank....? I'm going to assume never. haha.
