Hope everyone is doing well.
I am around 7 months into my new tank. Over the past couple of months have been seeing some growth on my sps corals and i am wanting peoples opinions on wether or is slow, medium or fast growth. The point in this is to test if my parameters are best for my tank and coral growth and seeing as i have no experience on sps growth i would really appreciate if you guys could help out.

I have uploaded 4 pics of 2 acros, time frame is from 1st of april to 1st of may.

Most of the growth is encrusting, im not to bothered about vertical growth at the moment.

Thanks for the input
I too have a cali tort but only got it 1 1/2 months ago and hasnt even started encrusting yet
Yet the oragon tort i got about 3-4 weeks ago has nearly the same growth rate as the 2 in the pics

Any idea on the par your cali tort is getting?

Does anyone have any comparison pics of growth in similar time frame (1 month) or longer.
Just trying to get a reading on my tank and hopefully others with similar experience level as me can get a rough idea on what kind of growth they should be seeing and set targets.
Thanks in advance!

Cali tort getting around 300-350. I’m going up it here soon. I just swapped lights to Reefbreeders and am slowly transitioning my corals to higher PAR. I had a Kessil before that just want putting out enough light.
Also, here are a couple growth pics for you.

Here is a WWC Green Birdsnest with 24 days growth. It’s what I would consider a fast grower.

Thanks
Thats about the same par as mines under, might just need a little longer to get used to my tank.
I also have a birds nest but only had minimal growth but this is due to it falling over allot.
Nice griwth

Nice! I have the ReefBreeders too. What are your settings? Do you ramp up and down? You’re getting some great growth compared to me.

Some acros grow enough you can easily see daily growth, like a millimeter a day or even more. Of course each tank is different and something that grows fast for someone may not grow at all for someone else even if measurable parameters are similar. Its a weird hobby sometimes.

just an update on the 2 sps frags from the first post
15th of may until yesterday
Note light is lower kelvin atm whilst acclimating my new nem

i agree
This statement was proven true to me when i upgraded to bigger tank and the difference in growth and colour is massive even though perams are verry similar.

Nice growth! I would not change a thing. Just keep your parameters within your established range and your golden.
Thanks
As this is my first REAL attempt at acros or sps in general, i just wasn’t sure of what to expect in terms of growth so couldn’t really judge wether or not i was on the right track.

thanks for everyone’s input here its helped me out a lot in terms of giving a bit of insight on what to expect from my tank and also took away the urge to tinker with things
