Check out this video! This is one of the acropora species that is in major trouble in the keys. A few folks have been given permission to try and farm this in the home aquarium as it's very difficult to keep - the time lapse growth of this Acropora Cervicornis is really cool....I wish I had this technology and the patience to gather this info over the course of a year! Saw this on Glassbox website and wanted to share...

I had to watch it like 4 times to see the branches form off of other branches nice find soccerbag

Awesome video. it looks like toward the end it is hitting the glass. Amazing what can happen if you never touch a piece of coral and just let it grow. I wish I had that man strength....lol

WOW THATS INCREADIBLE!!! i love how it started to encrust over the glass. how can you do this??

I know there are "high-end" webcams out there that you can program to take the same picture once per hour, day, etc. and it will save it to your hard drive. I guess you could put this together in Pinnacle (or another high end video editing program) and speed it up...frame by frame. Makes you want to go get one right? lol

Wow definitely check out his other video "daves dock" what the heck!!! HE LIVES NEXT TO THE OCEAN?! i wcould go diving everyday

Thanks for the compliments folks...although today is my last day as a sponsor here I will continue to be a member ...will post some of my other time laps soon...I have 8 different tanks currently being filmed.
All the best everyone -Dave

P.S. keep in mind as you watch the above growth sequence...that there is nothing but food and water changes going on in the tank.

...no Calcium additives
...no mag
...no strontium
...nothing for alk.
..nothing but water-changes, (10% weekly) and a daily single feeding of a multi-ingredient "coral smoothie" thats recipe changes with every batch.
...no phosphate removers of any kind.

Lower Florida Keys, (100 miles from Cuba,.. 120 from Miami)....there are actually three, (3) Juvenile Blue Angelfish in that group... only two show themselves in this particular video.

Dave, thanks for chiming in. Can you tell us a bit more about this piece. Did I have it correct that you are one of a handful of folks trying to grow this in an aquarium setting? The short article on Glassbox was intertesting - just curious if you had something more to add.
