I'm fairly new with keeping Acros. This colony seems to be turning white just at the base. Water is fine. Not sure if this is something that happens or a start of some problem.

How fast did it occur, I would watch it closely for the next 24 hours if it's progressing , if it continues frag off all the non effected branches. If you can remove the colony I would dip it in a coral dip immediately.

This is not a sudden on set it's slowly starred to change over a few months but seems somewhat larger

Turn off lights and use a flashlight to see if there is still flesh. It’s probably lost it’s color due to lack of light.

im assuming you checked for pests?

looks like multiple spots where the white parts are but its really hard to tell what it is from the picture

Do you have point-source LEDs? This is very common as frags turn into colonies.

Some pests will do this, but most leave the coral alive and suffering so that they can continue to feed off of it. Have you checked for AEFW?

It dosent appear to have any flesh on it.

I don't see any pets.

I’ve never heard of that light but I can see PE on that colony so I think it’s strong enough. Definitely agree with everyone else on the fact that it’s dying just due to lack of light. It happens in my tank as well.

Lighting could definitly be an issue. What are you kh,ca,no3,po4 levels and did you grow those colonies from frags or are they maricultured ocean raised bought colonies and how long have they been in your tank.

Water levels are all normal. I grew this from a small frag
