Acro Help?

What's the difference between a white acropora frag and a green with no flesh on it ? What does it mean besides possible death/bleaching ?

Pictures? What do you mean green and no flesh? They can't have color without skin. They can have skin and no color.

I believe when they turn green, it means that there is too much iron in your system. Maybe adding too much of a supplement.

Green isn't bad. Iron is thought to promote green colors but isn't something we really worry about. Very few have reported dosing iron and showing dramatic change so. FWIW.

Green is usually a good sign. Assuming your beauty isn't turning green lol. Most brownies depending on type have some greening as they gain health and color.

Some leading edges of acro growth have a green hughe to them.

Some just go green and then as they start to grow show their colors.

Without some pictures or a good explanation it's hard to say. IMO.

That's tissue recession and green from algae on the skeleton. Doesn't look healthy.

Tank size, age, methods for filtration, lighting/intensity and height off tank, etc. Parameters, dosing, how stable are they? Coral could be salvageable.

What's the history of the acro? Where from? QT or no? Dipped or no? Other corals in the tank and their health (specifically SPS).

There may also be a pest on your acro in the pic. Again, hard to say.

The frag was a fresh cut and seemed stressed , I haven't tested in a while all my frags are doing fine though , I use a canister with plenty of biological filtration, I dip everything , no pests I have wrasse for that

Wrasses don't garuntee that. No offense. How do you dip/acclimate.

I would test your water too. Chances are you're ok with things if your others are good. That first picture doesn't look "happy" but not awful either.

You could always re-dip the coral. Could also be an infection if it's fresh cut. Others and I have had success with furan-2 dip for possible infection.

Check that first coral pic for bare patches on it too. Is that a mariculture mount it's on?

I'll dip it again , no it's a frag plug ,no no bare spots either

You can get furan-2 on amazon next day cheap!! I would try that too if it's infection just to be safe.

Not for infection

Iodine dip would be better for infection.

Furan-2 is IME perfect.

Separate dips. No idea if they'll interact.

FWIW, if you're going to buy iodine just go to the fish store and get furan-2. You'll have enough to make gallons and gallons. It's super cheap.
