  • I have a few sticks in my tank. I know the green slimer and pink birds nest. Can anyone give an id on these two?

Since there are about 300 species of Acropora, many of which look alike to the naked eye with the exception of color, coral scientists have trouble IDing them with out viewing the skeletal structure under a microscope. Then you can have coral change color under different lighting schemes, MH, T5, PC, and combinations of all, add to that the different outcomes any given camera lends to a picture, you can see the problem pinning a name to your picture of those corals. The best I can do is say, yup you got two Acros. Sorry, it just isn’t that easy.

Another thing is, these are immature mini colonies and their color will change as they grow and adjust to your lighting.
