Acro ID

Picture is not very good, but its a darker green. Maybe a forest green? Has a metallic shimmer to it.
Tip is lighter. Lime green approaching yellow.
Polyps are brown or a very dark purple.

I have a seriatopora aka birdsnest right next to it. Definitely not the same coral.

I got it from a lfs. He said it was an acro, but didn't know the species or common name for this variant

It’s definitely an acro but until It shows some growth it’s impossible to get any more specific than that.

Ok. I was hoping for an ID so i would know what it should look like. Polyp extension, growth pattern, coloration, etc.
I guess its the classic "wait and see"

I agree. Definitely some sort of acropora, but until some branching and polyp geometry becomes evident, it will be difficult to positively identify.

Looks sort of a like a frag of A. tortuosa that I have, but that's just a guess.

I found some pics of acro with very similar coloration and texture. They called it "frogskin" acropora. One of the sites identified the species as A. Tortuosa.
I guess we will see

Frog isn't a real tortuosa, I believe it is vaughani. Just as miyagi tort isn't a real tort and believed to be austera.

your coral doesn't share characteristics of either of these IMO, but we can only see very little, plus it appears we are looking at "the back side" of a frag, I see some developed radial corallites on the opposite side of the frag, posting a picture of tgat side of the frag will help with ID, however, its still a bit small to make any accurate guesses.

I was looking at color and texture to find something similar. However, I think I see what you are saying about the corallites being different. They are smaller and more pointy. Knowing nothing about acropora speciation, I figured they were just undeveloped.
Can't really get a good pic of them right now. The lights are going down and it is at a very tough angle to see. Might just be poor placement on my part.
