I have one frag that is doing absolutely nothing! Nothing good or bad.

I think @seased called it the hulk?

It was added to my tank about a month ago with 3 other frags. The three others have fully encrusted and even started up. This one just sits there with very little polyp extension.

I am hesitant to bother it because it doesn't look bad.

Should I leave it be or move it?

I don't think you will harm it to move it to higher light and higher flow...that type of acro is a shallow water species.

That is good to know,..thanks Rob!

I should have mentioned this was the only one added as a fresh cut,...the other three where not. Maybe it needs some time to heal and then will catch up?

It is also the lowest in the tank,...I like to see some polyp extension before I work on their sun tan.

That coral is very hardy. Also, even in my tank, it shows little to no polyp extension. The more light it gets the more the ends will get whiter and it develops purple polyps on the ends. Also, once it settles in, it will grow very fast.

I should mention seased warned it was fresh cut and I decided not to wait.

@seased, our lights are very similar, I have the AI Hydra 52. I am in the middle of an acclimation period (40% reduction) because I toasted a couple of frags I got from a LFS, should I move the Hulk up? I like it's location now but could find a new spot if it looks better under more light. I am glad to hear it normally doesn't show a lot of polyp extension.

My main colony is right in the middle of the tank - so it's not directly under either light. Honestly, this coral will do fine where ever you put it - but keep in mind, for it to get the white ends with the purple polyps, it will need to be placed in fairly high light. If it's holding color and doing good - I would just leave it alone.
