I bought my first acro 2 weeks ago and its not doing well. I have a biocube29 mixed reef. I have mostly lps with a few softies and sps. I run an algae scrubber for filtration. I have a kessil a160 for lighting (running at 80%).

So I have this bonsai acro that I just added to the tank. its started to bleach I don't know what I did. I was slowly moving it up towards the top of the tank. Now that it's bleaching, I've placed it back on the sandbed. Is there anything I can do to stop/reverse the bleaching? What do you think caused it? Thanks for the help!!

Water parameters:
Salinity- 1.025
Nitrate- <1
Phosphate- 0
Alk- 9dkh
Calcium- 440 ppm

All are stable. No recent swings.

I ran into the same issue with one of my Acros. I put it on the the sand bed under a small overhang so it didn't get direct light. It took about a 4 weeks and the color came back. Hope this helps

Sounds like to much light. Move it down and give it time. Nothing good happens fast in the hobby.
