I got this acro colony yesterday and just noticed a white patch on the underside that I'm very concerned about. Is this RTN, STN, or other? What should I do? Start fragging now?

This colony is an incredible turquoise blue and my pictures do it not justice. Needless to say, I really want to save it.

The first pic is the frontside and in the second, you can see the patch I'm talking about.

make sure there are no AEFW.. Check for eggs... Brown dots (eggs) bundled together..

The eggs are usually on the white died off part..

I did a dip in Coral Revive before I put it in my tank. I'm a little hesitant about the iodine dip as I just got through reading an article about the negative effects of iodine dips on acropora. One study took 12 frags of the same acro and 6 were dipped in iodine prior to going into the tank and 6 were put directly into the tank. The 6 that were dipped all got RTN and the 6 that weren't were fine.

I guess I have 3 options:

1) Do nothing and keep a close eye on the patch to see if it grows.

2) Frag the colony (I can probably frag it into 3 - 4 mini colonies)

3) Do another dip.

I'm leaning toward 1 for now. What do you guys think. What a bummer, I was super stoked on this colony. It's color is stunning.

I would take a frag of it and put it far away from the colony. Then keep an eye on the colony to see if it spreads.

I got cold feet and haven't done anything to this colony yet and the white area is not spreading (knock on wood). Hopefully it's a sign that this coral likes my system better than the LFS's system.....we'll see.

Also, any guesses on an ID of this acro?
