hello everyone! I just recently got a acropora and a birds nest. I have the birds nest in full light and it looks good, but the acropora has not opened up yet. what kind of lighting does acropora like? I have a Radion gen 4 LED.

Your lighting equipment is good for acros but flow in my opinion is just as important. Also make sure that your parameters are stable. The acro is likely still adjusting but make sure it is getting good light and flow.

My acros did not open for months lol but still grew. Once I got my water perm stable they opened up. They got even better when I added T5's to my LED lighting. I think thats the key..

When I got my Acro, he didn't open for so long that I thought that was how it'll normally look and all the pics and videos I saw online was just zoomed to the max point. He did open just enough to know there was something in there. Now the polyps are much bigger than they were when they came in. Still my first and only acropora so far so I don't know what an acro's max opening would be like, but I kinda stopped worrying and let him do his thing. The polyps are now about 3times what they were when they came in. It's been about a month so far. Hope this helps.
