Hi,

I bought my first Acropora millepora yesterday. I slowly acclimated it but the polyps aren’t fully opening.I have the ai hydra 26Hd on a fluval evo. My parameters are:
Cal: 455 ppm
Mag: 1365 ppm
Dkh: went from 6.4 up to 9.9 from water change

I know the dkh is not good but my coralline algae is absorbing it like a sponge. Will he be ok?

From the pics? Yes, all good. It will take several days until its polyps extend fully. But any swings in tank parameters (like the dKH you noted) will impact its health, so I'd nail down why dKH is swinging, and fix that first. (6.4, not good. 9.0, good.)

Yea, I have finally got my buffer and I aim for 9.9 and I usually drop to 8.6 so a decrease of around 1.1-3dkh everyday, to combat this I add 2 grams of buffer
