So today I received a beautiful fiji acropora from the divers den. I know they require moderate to high lighting and moderate flow or at least I was told this. I have it placed near a montipora danae will this be a problem?

After doing some reading, I guess its possible for them to harm each other so for now its on the sandbed over the next 2-3 days I will be rearranging a pillar for this coral, heres a couple of pics.

The polyps were more extended but I had to move it away from the monti danae so they closed up a little. These are almost true to life colors polyps are vibrant green.

They should be okay together....they don't grow onto eachother or destroy eachother, they just grow up to eachother and then both push the border back and forth a little, but it's a very slow process....I had Rainbow, Superman and Sunset Montis (as well as others) growing all around Acro encrustations....

Well, I think just to be on the safe side, and to give them each their own room to grow I will build it a little pillar I needed an excuse to rearrange a couple things anyway. I have 3 diff sps, a montipora digitata green, a montipora danae purple/yellow, and now this acro. This is my testing the sps water experiment, they all seem to be on the easier side to care for and I have less than 150 invested between the 3 pieces.

You should be fine, although one of my cyphastrea is close to my clam, anyone think that would kill my clam?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that is fine. Just keep an eye on it, and if you notice anything funny seperate them.

Glad to see u put it on the sand bed for now . The upgrade in lighting is quite dramatic from what u presently have and what is on the way .
Just mho please leave it there until it gets used to the new sunpower fixture.
Pic's do look good so congrats on the new additions . I answered u at another place ...

LOL, well with the sunpower fixture I plan on only putting in 4 bulbs to start, after 7-10 days I will add another then another 7-10 days later I will add the last. Honestly I woulda rearranged a pillar for it, but I just got done acclimating a CUC a clam and 2 corals. Everything is doing great, I'm surprised at the polyp extension from this acro already after only a few hours in the tank.
