Acropora spawning :)

Hello everyone,

So last night one of my acros spawned.
This does not happen too often so I just wanted to share it with you.

Well not really, it’s a pretty shallow tank with a good bit of light (t5) trying to keep my params as close to seawater level as possible, have an algae / refugium.
Tank is running with 3 part red sea.
Doing weekly 10 or 20 % waterchanges.
The tank is 80 ish gallons with 13 fish with heavy filtration and heavy feeding.
So pretty normal I guess
Oh I am dosing P and N from ATI and Iron from KZ and Iodide more so for the chaeto.

That’s is awesome, especially since we do not fully understand what makes acros spawn in the wild yet.

A lot has actually been discovered on the conditions for corals to spawn. You should check out this video:

Well I just came home from my run and just checked the tank with a small flashlight, like I always do after the lights go out and saw those small pinkish orbs everywhere in the tank.I have read about it and saw the spawning in the wild on videos so I kind of knew what was going on.So then I just searched around from wich coral they are coming and found that the green slimer was the one The whole event lasted like 30 minutes I guess ,though not sure.I think I caught the end of it just in time.
