So I posted this thread in a different section but oddly enough I'm not getting much help...hoping someone else in here may have a better idea for me....

So I have an ULNS, and following the advice of many of the sharp and billiant minds on here like @Randy Holmes-Farley ... but I am currently letting my Alk drop to around 8 (it was at 10.2) and adding some nutrients like Acropower. ...as my SPS were starting to struggle.

I am wondering how much Acropower to add though. I have the dosage down as I am just following the reccomended dosage based on the 145 gallons of water in my tank ... but how often? I have heard and read on forums that everyday is good, to once or twice a week. Just not sure how often to add this stuff.

The actual directions on the bottle say "use once every week, or as often as once a day...".....I just don't know how often exactly to use it

Thanks!!!!

Honestly I haven't noticed any nutrient issues with dosing daily... 20ml for my 139 gallon subtract rock I dose for 100 gallon.. I haven't really noticed any changes in my corals yet.. possibly due to low phosphates as I've been dosing for only two weeks.. my phosphates are 0.005 , I even turned off my skimmer to try to get phosphates up...I feel like these amino acid suppliments help maintain some nutrient levels in our systems therefore providing some growth and color... however I believe if a system is already nutrient deficient you'll need to suppliment a lot more in order to see any results with the corals.. i don't believe corals can maintain their basic metabolic needs with nutrient defeciencies for long as they will slowly starve without a source of nitrogen and carbon sources. I don't believe amino acids of any kind can truly suppliment a corals metabolic needs with amino acids by itself. Much more is needed as you might be aware...every system will react different there are so many variables to take into consideration.. it's all about trial and error. Experimentation will be your best bet at figuring out your systems requirements as each tank is unique. All I can say is start slow and don't rush.. even the manufacture states it can vary that much by daily dosing to weekly dosing no one really knows but they can give you a good starting point. Good luck.
