ACRORGV's 29 Gallon Biocube

Well I am back from a couple of months unable to access my account, Thanks David (Revhtree) for the help. Turns out I created another account alexXx which got banned because you can only have one account on R2R or so I was told, reason was to disassociate my username from a local reef club. Not a big deal now I can finally start posting again. Sorry for the inconvenience I might have caused.

February 6 2016 snail activity, the larger ones are from the previous spawn and the little white specs are newly hatched little brothers.

Snails going to work! Have any updated front tank shots?

Thanks! haha I blast this little tank with a 250watt Medal Halide running 12k Reeflux for 4 hours of peak time, 2 x T5's run 6 hours and the Primes run 8 hours in 20k mode @ 90% during peak time with 30 min Ramps.

Absolutely awesome Biocube! How does that wavemaker work in such a "small" area?
Actually I think you can dial down those gyre quite a bit and still get a lot of random wave patterns out.

Thank you for the kind words IdahoNano. I have always been advocate high flow. Powers2001 is correct, I am 3 notches from max on the Gyre 130 and I have it set in pulse mode on for 5 seconds and off for 5 seconds. The SPS gets blasted by the flow and love it, while the LPS... well let us just say they have had to deal with it and over time adjusted to the strong flow. In fact I see exponential growth from everything in the tank. when I have more time I will try and do some before and after shots as well as a youtube video update.

Update: 04/14/2016
So I finally ran out of Tropic Marine Pro Salt and I am running 100% Aqua Forest products: Probiotic Salt, NP pro, Pro Bio S, Coral A (Amino's), Coral V (Vitamins), I removed the All In One Biopellets and now using Phosphate Minus(gfo), Aqua Forest Carbon(rox), and dosing Component +1, +2, +3. I added a a few pieces as well as made room a few more frags. I replaced the 250w DE Medal Halide Bulb from a 12k Reeflux to a Pheonix 14k and replaced the T5's from ATI Aqua Blues for ATI True Actinics.

Very sweet!!!! Everything is looking very happy!

When your rocks were greenish color how did you get rid of it? Right now my tank is roughly 6 months old and I am noticing my rocks turning slightly green. Note sure whey....or If im about to have one hellacious hair algae outbreak on every square inch of my rocks.

I have a 29 gallon tank but not a bio cube.

Thanks.

The greenish color on the rock eventually turned brown and back to white and then a mix of every color under a rainbow once all the nutrients were exhausted within the cube. The contributing factors that has led the current tank to its current state is the water quality I get from the Spectrapure's RODI, the amount of flow in the tank and Aquaforest products.

After posting this I realized I was having a pretty bad cyano outbreak. I learned cyano is not always red. I'm on day two of chemiclean. Hopefully it starts to beat cyano. Ive read it starts disappearing on day 3.

Thank you
