Just wondered upon an old pic of my acrylic frag rack I drilled for a frag tank a couple years ago and thought I would share it. It worked really well. I drilled it by hand so it was far from perfect.

That wasn't bad Rev. I need to make one to hold some frags oof the sand the zos dont seam to like it

We did the same thing but made it hang down into the tank. Only thing is that bubble get trapped under it and diatom grow on it. But is really nice when fully covered in coralline.

They make an acrylic eggcrate also. I made an acrylic frag rack almost identical to yours a while back, and had problems with air bubbles getting trapped as well. This picture is from last year I think.

yep, did the same here too...spent a a fortune on acrylic making a really slick one, and diatom problems caused me to remove it.

Black egg crate, soaked in vinegar for a month, and then good to go.

Ive had much better results when ive soaked the eggcrate first.

What doe's the vinegar soak do? I just use the crate as is.... it grows coraline real well

I'm guessing it removes whatever leaches from egg crate that causes algae to grow on it.

I reused an old piece of egg crate from my old frag vat, zero algae growth on it this time. The newer pieces are getting algae all over them.
