The hubs bought acrylic panels to build a sump for my 90gal tank, but the panels were not measured correctly and cannot be used. He decided to use them to build a frag tank, and he bought silicone to bond the panels. Everything I've read says silicone will either not work on acrylic or it will loose adhesion. He tried it last night and it certainly didn't work. What do you guys use to bond acrylic to make tanks?

what you need is Weld-on. They have a specific product that is clear and water-thin to use with an applicator. I just built my own sump recently out of acrylic. I got the weld-on and applicator from the acrylic shop that sold me the panels of acrylic. One tip that I couldn't grasp, is to go SLOW when applying. Make sure as you run it along the seams, that it goes all the way under each seam or else you will have MAJOR leaks like I did. I kept going back over each problem area until the leak stopped. They did after three passes. Good Luck!

Weld on 4 for new builds weld on 16 for repairs
