I am looking to upgrade from my BC29.

I wanted to hear your recommendations on a acrylic or glass aquarium. I am only looking to upgrade to a 40 gallon.

Cleaning wise, I am afraid of scratching the acrylic when scrapping off the algae growth of the tank. I currently have a glass aquarium and while using the Two Fish algae scrapper, I still scratch the glass a little.

I just wanted to know if owning a acrylic tank will be too much work to clean and worry about scratching the tank.

Glass for me but I agree with Troy, the Search function will reveal several opinions.

I'll never go back to an acrylic again. With acrylic you get a non-distorted view and they are lighter and handle stress better but they scratch, scratch, scratch. It's unavoidable IME.

I'll take a heavy distorted glass tank any day

Thanks. I've been on the hunt for an acrylic 40g, but everyone that was selling theirs was heavily scratched.

I've decided to purchase a glass 40g breeder. Petco is selling it for $105.

I missed out on their $1/gallon sale in July.

Who knows when they'll be having annoyed sale. With my luck, it'll be in 2012.
