I have an 8ft overflow. It’s a freshwater tank sadly there’s no overflows built into it. Not sure what I should do here for overflow options. I had a 220G with this overflow. https://synergyreef.com/product/16-shadow-overflow/

I drilled the tank my self and it was glass. When I installed it there was a small leak in the back. Not sure why this happened so I’m kinda scared to go with this same route again. Maybe I did something wrong but not sure. Any suggestions. I have 2 slits on the top for overflow hang on if I want. Should I go with 2 hang ons or just drill again?

here’s a pic of the tank

Assume you mean you have an 8 ft tank ..... is that the one pictured. Acrylic? That’ll be an awkward brace to work with. Assuming it’s acrylic, drilling is a lot easier .... though you still have to be careful not to crack it. Hang on s just seem so 2005 to me .... and they stink. Go with a single ghost-style overflow if you can get it into the tank, otherwise a pair of smaller ones. Look at either modular marine or EMS..

Yes sorry meant 8ft tank. The tank was made for freshwater sadly so that’s why the brace is a pain. I drilled glass before so I’m assuming this will be much easier
