Hi all newbi to the site.

I have a biorb life 60 witch I just managed to crack the bottom of!

I have on order some A4/A6 sizes of acrylic coming to hopefully patch it up.

My worry is tensol 12 glue isn't going be thick enough to fill/grab the two parts.

Can anyone recommend/give advice would be so grateful thanks.

Pictures of A4 paper for reference of my idea of cover it all up. IMG_20210216_000257.jpg IMG_20210216_000621.jpg IMG_20210216_000305.jpg IMG_20210216_000339.jpg IMG_20210216_000346.jpg

Hi and welcome to R2R

Sorry about the tank. There are a few folks here that know about acrylic. I think @ca1ore or @fishguy242 may know about acrylic or have another member in mind.

hi ,bummer..easy fix,not sure the weld prouduct you are using, i use weld on # 16 for repairs ,due suggest piece on inside and outside of tank ,glue on, something heavy for pressure, wait 4 hrs .run bead around edge of patch, and repeat for other side, this is out side bottom ,so must be as big as possible,or full size, all weight will sit on ;) :)
@Joe Glass Cages ,any thoughts ??

sorry...by the way;Facepalm

oh boy.... so sorry to see this. I agree with @fishguy242 regarding the weldon. Not sure about those cracks. Hard to really see the extend of the damage to make a good suggestion. so hard. Can suggest something and then, Bam! another issue. would suggest talking this through if you are open to that. Let me know. I will try to give you good direction if possible. so sorry this has happened.

Hi I'm from the UK and doesn't look like I can get the weld on stuff. Tensol 12 I believe is same as weld on #4? Very runny and thin. I have been looking for something thicker like #16 but no luck.

My plan was to heat up a sheet of A3 size and place it like this over the tank

Then glue it like this? Or would I only need to do edges or both haha?

Thank you again

Few more pictures to help with the crack locations. And the original piece that I removed causing the crack.

The tensol solvent is apparently very good, you may want to post up on ultimate reef as it's a predominantly UK user forum. There's no reason it shouldn't work, just check the curing time before filling and checking. I've used Weldon products in the UK about 15 years ago, the stuff I used was for bonding pressure pipe for a koi pond, couldn't tell you where I bought it from though.
