Hello,
I have a 400 gallons acrylic tank, with two sump pumps (one on each side of it). I would love to remove them, so i can get more space in the tank, is it possible? can I cut the acrylic dividers and sand it off from the inside, or is there a best way to do it? Please help.
Thanks

For most folks that task isn't really an option, impractical and nearly impossible to remove the bonded walls and not leave a visible trace. The fix that is slightly more doable is to cut the ends off the tank and replace them with a new acrylic wall making a shorter tank but removing the blue acrylic boxes. That isn't an easy task for the average person but it may be doable with by an acrylic fabricator. The trick is to cut the ends off flat and smooth so that the new panel will easily bond at the intersecton of old tank and new. That tank will be warped slightly at the intersection of the blue acrylic and clear in the existing tank. Cutting acrylic is an art, making it flat is skill and art, and the chances of successfully replacing the ends would be greatly enhanced with a large sander, cutting table, and clamps, and other tools and skills that make this a very interesting challenge. I wouldn't do it, I don't have access to the tools, tables or time. It would be farily easy to ruin the tank just trying to accomplish a fix.
