I am trying to figure out the best way to fix a leak on our acrylic tank. We purchased the tank used. We filled it up the day before yesterday. Yesterday we noticed that there is the tiniest leak ever at the seam in one of the corners on the bottom. There is just the tiniest little drip that comes out. It is hardly anything that comes out, o. The other hand it is enough to accumulate over time. What is the best way to fix it?

Mark the spot. Empty the tank and dry the seam completely. If the seam looks like it is white or fractured you might have a long term problem. If not you should consider Weld on 42 with the gun and tip delivery system. Just the 50ml size would work fine. Make a small fillet bead and let dry over night or whatever the directions say. Retest the tank with tap water for a couple days to make sure the leak is sealed. Enjoy the tank! Send pictures if you have questions.

I built and sold acrylic aquariums for more than 25 years.
