Any acrylic experts on here? I have a question about a second hand tank I'm thinking of buying

Lol...this is a second hand tank I'm looking at...my concern is that the stand has 2 cutouts one by the overflow and one on the other side where there is no over flow. I know acrylic needs full bottom support. Is that second cutout an issue?

I was just concerned that the cutout area is a weak point and could result in a blowout....I don't have much experience with acrylic

Simply cut or have Home Depot cut an excat top to mount to stand which will serve as a base for tank and place 1/2" thick styrofoam on top as a leveling mat then place tanl on top
My acrylic monster tank sits on plywood over a steel stand

Thanks. You don't think its ok as is? This is how its been run the last 2 years so part of my concern is if it could be weaker from that.

Also, as far as foam, I've seen some say yes and some say no....not sure what I will do.

Its probably ok as is but I prefer to know its fullt stable.

Just keep in mind that even 3/4” ply doesn’t have much rigidity through the thickness dimension. I’d not view ply alone as adequate support across the full bottom. Needs a few cross members IMO. Almost all of the acrylic tank makers specify a layer of foam.
