Soooo, sometimes you don't know what you don't know and you have to deal with fallout.

I came home to a split seam on a 300 gal. Smoking electronics is a bad feeling! Luckily I had a 40 gal and 90 gal to dump livestock. I also bought a 100 gal stock tank for live rock.

First step was to clean with alcohol. Then, took dremel with wire brush(worked best, tried multiple tools) to clean all corners . I then scraped all corners.

I decided to gusset all corners and used 1/2" square solid rod. I used weld-on 40 to glue it all together.
I used dowel rods to hold all in place.

i know this is an old thread, but hoping u or someone with experience an walk me through.. did u tilt the tank when u glued the rod? or is the 40 consistency like elmer’s glue that if u kind of brush it into the acrylic rod it’ll stay and not just drip down and evaporate?
