Acrylic tank/stand gap

Working on the tank today I noticed a gap between the center of the tank and the stand. In the center it is 3/16” of a inch.

Currently there is no foam under the tank, but if I added either a 1/2” or 1” piece of foam would that fix the issue? If not, what is a solution?

I would replace the top if it were mine.
