Acrylic Top For Aquarium On Cold Winter Nights

Have an acrylic top for aquarium. Use it whenever someone is cleaning in the living room to prevent anything from accidentally getting into the tank (windex or other cleaning solutions).

Question - Could I use acrylic top during cold winter nights to keep heat in? Would remove during the day. Any issues doing this?

I cover all my reefs with styrofoam sheets at night (they are in the cold garage) I have no issues. I do run a skimmer to keep aeration.
